Boy Scout Ministry
ABOUT
As Turner Chapel AME church was growing under the leadership of the "dynamic duo" of Revs. Kenneth and Cassandra Marcus, the Cub Scouts was started in 1989 under Coach Kenneth Carter. Coach Carter along with Perry Mathis, Tony Braggs, Greg Norah, Larry Lockett, TC Campbell lead the ministry at 548 Lawrence Street. After bringing his son to the Cub Scouts, Rodney Gullatte, Sr. started volunteering with the ministry in 1989. It wasn't long after that Mr. Gullatte started serving as the Cub Master and became Ministry Head of scouting in the 1990s and continues to serve 25 years later.
In the early 2000s, the Boy Scouts started and just like the Cub Scouts continues to grow. Boy Scout Troop 312 has produced two Eagle scouts: Tyler Oliver and Nicholus Young. The Cub Scout Pack 312 has produced a number of Arrow of Light scouts.
